Frurion™for APACS is the latest financial protocol simulator from Proteros Data Systems, that builds on the company’s proven expertise in financial messaging, to simulate APACS POS terminal and card transactions. Frurion™ for APACS enables a fully flexible and user-friendly testing environment for any kind of Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) transaction and is fully integrated with Proteros’s Frurion™ application suite, including the data dictionary services. Furthermore, Frurion™for APACS can be used to simulate logical networks for POS transactions and/or logical networks for acquirers together with the relevant settlement files. Support for APACS 30, 40 & 70 along with APACS 29 settlement is available from a unified user interface.
There are two modes of operation:
- Acquirer host testing, which incorporates, the use of the Frurion™ Card Acceptor simulator to send APACS request messages to the acquirer host and to process the responses from the host.
- POS Terminal testing where the simulator can act as the acquirer host and respond to the terminal’s message request.
Test data can be created using one of two methods:
- Using a set of APACS 30, 40 or 70 templates, request messages and test data can be created manually to be used to simulate a POS terminal and card.
- A simple card reader can be attached to the simulator and allow it to act as a POS terminal based on a set of predefined POS terminal characteristics, which in turn allows it to interact with a real card. This can be useful when testing white-label cards during User Acceptance or Live Proving testing.
